Position: Wireless Engineer
Location: Remote with up to 40% travel
Duration: 6 months with potential to go long term or hire
Wireless IE or CCNP in wireless with strong wireless background
We need a Wireless Engineer with experience designing and implementing wireless infrastructure. This is to support several client's initiatives. We are creating wireless designs for multiple locations.
* Design active and passive environments
* Cisco indoor and outdoor including mesh
* experience designing wireless architecture for distribution centers and complex building structures
* Cisco Prime, ISE, controllers
* experience with wireless site surveys in all its flavors (passive, active, hybrid, predictive)
* experience using airmagnet
* experience with Aruba and HP wireless
* 802.1x authentication
* CERTIFICATION REQUIRED (CCNP or CCIE)
Role & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the delivery of Wireless Planning, Design, Implementation & Optimization
- Perform architectural planning and design, as well as configuration and integration support engagements.
- Participate in or lead complex network design, performance engineering or problem resolution projects.
- Assist in the development of high-level and low-level design activities
- Assist in the development of network implementation planning
- Assist in configuration and connectivity activities, including test planning and cutover activities
- Recommends and initiates projects to benefit customers and AS wide objectives.
- Accountable to highest levels of senior management to ensure project commitments and AS deliverables are met.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Typically requires BSEE/CS or equivalent plus 10 years' experience in a network engineering or telecommunications support environment.
-In depth knowledge of Wireless technology
-RF Design, RF Survey/Engineering and RF troubleshooting skills
-IP Network Design skills
-Thorough understanding of WLAN authentication, security and network management
-Experience designing and deploying key WLAN applications including Secure Mobility, Voice over WLAN, Location Based Services, and Wireless Guest Access
-Expert level Inter-networking troubleshooting in a large scale network environment.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
